'investigating claims it was hit by cyber attack'
H&M Group is reportedly investigating claims that it was targeted by a cybercriminal group known as Shinyhunters. The allegations, published by The Times, come amid similar claims tied to other major incidents: Shinyhunters previously claimed involvement in a Jaguar Land Rover attack last summer, and it has reportedly demanded a £400,000 ransom linked to a 2024 Ticketmaster breach. In comments to The Times, an H&M spokeswoman said the company is looking into a potential cybersecurity incident affecting a limited scope of data and, so far, has no indication its data environment was compromised. H&M has 4,000 stores across more than 80 markets. The UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office had not received a report as of Monday lunchtime, and H&M shares fell 1.5%.
