Jaguar Land Rover confirms plans for voluntary redundancy scheme

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has confirmed it will launch a voluntary redundancy programme, more than a year after a cyber attack halted production for over a month. The automaker said it needs to save about £1.7bn over the next two years as it adapts to “evolving global market conditions.” The Times reported that the move could result in the loss of up to 4,000 jobs due to tariffs and a sales decline, though JLR told the BBC it had not confirmed any numbers. A JLR spokesperson said it has informed colleagues and union partners and will share further details first with employees. The BBC said it contacted Unite for comment.
