Jonquel Jones leads Team Spoon to All-Star Game defeat of Team Coop after a standout performance helped Team Spoon beat Team Coop 129-122 on Saturday in the WNBA All-Star Game in Chicago. Jones, of the New York Liberty, finished with 22 points, 13 rebounds, and eight assists to earn MVP honors, outpacing Team Coop’s Kelsey Mitchell, who scored 28 points. Olivia Miles contributed 11 points, 12 rebounds, and eight assists, while Allisha Gray (19), Caitlin Clark (17), A’ja Wilson (12), Courtney Williams (12), Nneka Ogwumike (11), and Kiki Iriafen (10) also reached double figures for Team Spoon. Team Coop was led by Marina Mabrey’s 23 points, with Gabby Williams adding 18 and Paige Bueckers and Dominique Malonga scoring 12 each. The United Center drew a WNBA All-Star record 19,783 fans, more than double the 2022 attendance at Chicago’s prior midseason showcase. Team Spoon led 81-64 at halftime on 55.7% shooting versus 42.6%.
