Leipzig’s Birdsview takes flight with €2.5 million Seed to scale Avys, positioning its AI email marketing agent for online shops as an alternative to human-led CRM work. The startup, based in Leipzig, said it raised €2.5 million in a Seed round to expand Avys. The financing was led by Fortino Ventures and Newion, after TGFS backed the company during its pre-Seed phase. Birdsview was founded in 2023 by data scientists Tim Kuesters and Ozan Brochwitz-Tuerker. The company says Avys runs end-to-end e-commerce retention messaging, handling tasks typically split between CRM software and an agency. It argues retention messaging remains critical as email helps bring customers back, while customer acquisition costs rose 222% over eight years and retention platforms have changed little. Birdsview claims retailers often pay for both tools and agencies, typically three to five times the software license, because teams cannot write to each customer individually. The firm says Avys reads a retailer’s catalog, decides what to say and when, and writes individualized emails in the brand’s voice.
