Loganair Adopts SkyBreathe Fuel Efficiency Software
Loganair has adopted SkyBreathe, an AI-powered fuel-efficiency software from OpenAirlines, making it the first UK regional carrier to deploy the platform across its operations. The system analyzes flight data and uses advanced algorithms to identify fuel-saving opportunities and offer actionable recommendations to crews and operational teams. Loganair operates more than 70 routes across the UK and Europe, and the SkyBreathe deployment is now live fleetwide. The platform is already used by more than 80 airlines worldwide, including Air France, Norwegian, and Korean Air. Loganair frames the move as part of its GreenSkies sustainability program, launched in 2021 with a goal of net-zero emissions by 2040. By joining the SkyBreathe community, Loganair gains access to shared best practices and a larger knowledge base for reducing fuel burn and CO2. OpenAirlines CEO Alexandre Feray says the partnership translates flight data into concrete actions that lower environmental impact and improve efficiency. The arrangement supports Loganair’s broader environmental and commercial objectives while enabling industry collaboration on climate goals.
