Madewell Recalls 6,000 Sweaters Due to Potential Death Risk - Internewscast Journal
Madewell Recalls 6,000 Sweaters Due to Potential Death Risk after the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission determined the apparel does not meet federal flammability requirements. The recall involves about 6,000 women’s sweaters, specifically Madewell Double V-Neck Pullover and V-Neck Cardigan styles, offered in light blue and cream. The CPSC said the garments fail the mandatory safety standard for clothing textiles, meaning they could ignite more easily than allowed and pose a serious burn hazard. The affected items were sold at Madewell and T.J. Maxx retail locations and through their websites from December 2024 to October 2025. Consumers are urged to check internal labels; recalled sweaters carry a “Madewell” neck label and side-seam tags with style numbers NT611, NT612, or the code “HO24.” No injuries have been reported, but Madewell has received one report of a sweater igniting. The company offers full refunds through a process that includes cutting the sweater and emailing a photo of the damaged item before disposal.
