Major Pi Network Change Is Now Live: Here's What Pioneers Need to Know
Pi Network’s core team has rolled out a major update to the pricing of its AI-powered App Studio, effective August 24. The platform will stop heavily subsidizing app creation and editing costs for all developers. Previously, creators paid 0.25 PI to generate an application and another 0.25 PI to edit it, but the team said those fees did not match the actual cost of AI-powered creation during the studio’s introductory period. Now, the standard price for creating and editing apps will better reflect the underlying AI service resources used for each operation, with no markup added. An exception remains for developers whose apps attract enough real, distinct users, allowing them to keep the old subsidized rates temporarily; eligibility can change as usage grows. The team said the goal is to reduce spending on experiments, tests, or spam apps while encouraging products people actually use. The announcement comes as PI trades near $0.09 despite broader crypto gains.
