Max Verstappen eyes Spa 24 Hours after rocky GT World Challenge start

Max Verstappen said he’s trying to line up an entry for the Spa 24 Hours in 2027 after a rocky start to his GT World Challenge Europe debut at Portimão. Ahead of the weekend, the four-time world champion noted there’s no clash between Formula 1 and the Belgian endurance race next year and pointed to Spa’s proximity to the Dutch border and his Belgian heritage. Verstappen’s first outing in the #3 Mercedes-AMG ended with a stewards’ reprimand: on his first lap, he attempted an inside pass at Turn 3 on Ezequiel Pérez Companc’s #25 Sainteloc Audi, forcing it to spin. He received a reprimand and one Behaviour Warning Point—no grid or time penalty.
