MediaTek Expects US$2.5 Billion From First AI Accelerator Program in Q4 2026 | EconoTimes
MediaTek expects its first data-center AI accelerator program to bring in US$2.5 billion in Q4 2026 revenue, with CEO Rick Tsai describing it as an early benchmark for the company’s push into AI chips. Speaking at MediaTek’s Oct. 30 investor conference, Tsai said initial shipments started in September and that the program could generate about US$16 billion in 2027—around 20% of the AI accelerator ASIC market, based on MediaTek’s earlier estimate that the market would reach US$80 billion. The company forecast strong demand and said it is working with supply-chain partners to secure more capacity. MediaTek reported Q3 revenue of NT$168.1 billion (+10.4% quarter over quarter, +18.3% year over year) and guided Q4 consolidated revenue of NT$210.1 billion to NT$221.8 billion with gross margin around 45%. It also said a second program is on track for high-volume production in Q1 2028.
