MediaTek's Dimensity 9600 Pro Focuses on Gaming, AI Performance for High-End Phones - CNET

MediaTek has unveiled the Dimensity 9600 Pro and Dimensity 9600M processors aimed at high-end phones, highlighting advanced gaming and on-device AI. The Dimensity 9600 Pro is the company’s first chip built on a 2-nanometer process in partnership with TSMC, intended to deliver greater density for performance and power efficiency compared with the prior Dimensity 9500. MediaTek says it will support faster performance, more on-device AI features, and “console-quality” gaming at up to 185 frames per second. The Dimensity 9600M is positioned as a step-down option but is also designed to deliver AI features and the same 185fps target. Competition comes primarily from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon line, with Qualcomm expected to debut its next flagship at Snapdragon Summit on Sept. 22. Phones using MediaTek’s new chips are expected later this year.
