Megazone Cloud VP: AI Competition Now About Execution, Not Models
At South Korea’s Smart Cloud Show 2026 in Seoul, Megazone Cloud CAIO Vice President Kong Seong-bae argued that AI competition has shifted from model quality to real-world execution. Speaking at the Westin Josun Hotel in Jung-gu on the 26th, he said businesses now ask where AI can be carried out effectively, as agents increasingly perform tasks rather than just generating chatbot answers. Kong linked the shift to an “AI-era productivity paradox,” where individual task acceleration doesn’t automatically translate into measurable financial or labor productivity. He said productivity rises when AI technology, people, and processes converge, drawing parallels to how PC-driven gains took 10–15 years to show up in business systems like CRM and SCM. He urged firms to focus on “harness,” an execution environment for stable AI model management, and noted future measurement may shift from ROI toward ROE and ROF.
