New Chairperson, members appointed to Finance Commission

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake appointed N. R. Anees as the new Chairperson of Sri Lanka’s Finance Commission and also named him as a member, according to the President’s Media Division. J. M. C. J. Wijetunga and K. Karunaharan were selected as the other two commission members. The appointment letters were handed to the appointees by Dr Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, Secretary to the President, at the Presidential Secretariat on July 20 afternoon. The new appointments were made to fill vacancies that arose after the previous members’ terms of office expired. The decision formalizes the commission’s leadership following an end-of-term transition.
