AMD says this is the world's fastest mobile gaming CPU -- Acer Nitro 16 gets it first
AMD’s flagship mobile gaming CPU, the Ryzen 9 9955HX3D, powers Acer’s Nitro 16, unveiled at Computex 2026. The chip combines 16 Zen 5 cores with an extra 64MB of L3 cache via AMD’s second-gen 3D V-Cache, delivering an average 16% higher frame rates across 29 games at 1080p compared with the nearest competition, and a 17% gain in 1% lows. The Nitro 16 can be configured with a mobile RTX 5070 Ti (12GB GDDR7) and offers up to 32GB of DDR5-5600 RAM and up to 2TB of PCIe Gen 4 NVMe storage, along with a dual‑fan, quad‑intake cooling system and granular NitroSense controls. Acer’s broader Computex lineup includes the Predator Helios 18 AI with up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus and RTX 5090, a 18‑inch Mini LED display, and high-end memory/storage options.
