Meta to sell AI chatbot subscriptions to offset spending

Meta is turning its AI ambitions into a paid product, launching consumer subscriptions for the Meta AI chatbot to offset heavy AI spending. The rollout introduces two paid tiers: Meta One Plus at $7.99 per month and Meta One Premium at $19.99 per month, available in Singapore, Guatemala, and Bolivia with broader expansion planned. The free access remains for image and video generation but will hit usage limits over time. Meta also has business-focused tiers, Meta One Essential at $14.99 and Meta One Advanced at $49.99, including human support for pages and bundles for WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook. Investors have pressured Meta to monetize AI infrastructure.
