OpenAI Gave AI Agents Their Own Computers at DevDay 2026. Here's Everything It Announced

At DevDay 2026 in San Francisco, OpenAI unveiled more than 20 announcements centered on AI agents that operate from their own “computer.” The company introduced an Ultrafast tier said to run up to 8x faster in Codex and up to 6x in the API, bundled with the $500-a-month Pro 500 plan. A centerpiece is “Dots,” always-on agents that use GPT-6 Astra, each paired with its own cloud computer and web browser. Dots can connect to more than 4,000 apps, act within built-in human-controlled rules, and can be accessed via ChatGPT, voice calls, and Slack/Teams. OpenAI also launched ChatGPT Space, a shared workspace with Pages for humans and agents editing together, and a new model, GPT-6.1 Sol, positioned as a lower-cost workhorse arriving after GPT-6 Sol.
