Our Community Foundation sets Giving Tuesday for Dec. 1

Our Community Foundation has scheduled Giving Tuesday Daviess County for Dec. 1, a 24-hour fundraising event aimed at supporting local charitable organizations. This year’s edition is also a milestone: it marks the fifth year for the regional Giving Tuesday event and the fifth anniversary of Our Community Foundation. Executive Director Chris Jarrett said the effort is designed to encourage residents to donate to causes or charitable funds that matter to them, including gifts made to Foundation-supported funds that will count toward Giving Tuesday totals. The Foundation will host an online giving platform at localforever.org at no cost to participating nonprofits, with results released after the event. Partner media outlets will recognize donor-focused winners, and organizations must sign up by Oct. 31.
