Police investigating attempted murder of two officers

Police investigating attempted murder of two officers was launched after an attack in South Lanarkshire on Saturday. Officers were carrying out inquiries at a property on Glen Avenue in Larkhall at about 14:10 when a white Renault Traffic van was deliberately driven at them. The two male officers, aged 43 and 41, were taken to hospital with serious injuries. Police Scotland said one officer has been released while the other remains in hospital. The force described the incident as “despicable” and urged anyone with information to come forward as the investigation continues.
