Police issue appeal to drivers ahead of September 1st
Kazakhstan’s Interior Ministry has launched an appeal to drivers ahead of September 1, the start of the new school year. Using Polisia.kz as its channel, the ministry said traffic enforcement will be intensified before classes begin to improve child safety. Authorities will focus on preventing traffic violations and injuries involving children, with monitoring near schools and other educational facilities ramped up. Officials will also check pedestrian crossings, road signs and road markings, and inspect school buses and compliance with rules for transporting children. After reviewing road infrastructure near schools, 548 orders were issued to address violations. The Interior Ministry also urged parents to reinforce safety rules with children for school, street, public transport and online settings.
