Prince Harry to make public appearance after defeat in Daily Mail privacy case
Prince Harry is set to make a public appearance in Birmingham on Thursday after losing a privacy case related to the Daily Mail. The Duke of Sussex will visit a children’s hospital, following a run of private engagements earlier in the week, including closed-door meetings at Royal Hospital Chelsea on Wednesday. The event drew media restrictions, with journalists not permitted to attend London coverage that forms part of his five-day solo UK tour. His High Court defeat came a day earlier, when Mr Justice Nicklin dismissed claims accusing Associated Newspapers Limited and others, including Baroness Doreen Lawrence and Sir Elton John, of unlawful information gathering. Plans for pooled media coverage were changed the day before, attributed to a heatwave, though pooled access is expected for remaining engagements. There is no indication Harry will meet King Charles during the visit, as security concerns kept Meghan, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet away from London.
