Red Roses make nine changes for Canada clash
The Red Roses have made nine changes for the first of three Tests against Canada in the WXV Global Series. World Cup-winning duo Alex Matthews and Jess Breach are back in England’s squad, with Matthews returning as vice-captain from number eight after scoring two tries in last year’s World Cup final against Canada. Breach resumes on the right wing. Hooker Bryony Field earns her maiden international start at Sandy Park in Exeter after scoring on debut in last weekend’s 48-15 win over Australia. Hannah Botterman and Maud Muir join Field in an all-changed front row, while Morwenna Talling returns to partner Lilli Ives Campion. Lucy Packer and Zoe Harrison come into the half-backs, and Helena Rowland returns in midfield with captain Megan Jones.
