Shoppers of popular fashion retailer say hackers are sending them messages on app
UK’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) said it is offering assistance to ASOS, a London-based e-commerce retailer, after reports that the retailer’s data platforms were hacked. ASOS app users reported on social media that on Tuesday they received a push notification titled “ASOS HACKED.” The message appeared addressed to ASOS data protection officers (DPOs) and information technology officers, including a claim—shown in screenshots—that the “Snowflake instance” was fully compromised and a demand to “Engage with us, or we will leak it,” along with a hyperlink. ASOS and Snowflake representatives were not immediately available to confirm which data services were involved or whether customer data was affected. The NCSC advised users not to click links or reply.
