SoundHound Closes LivePerson Acquisition: $304M Bet on Omnichannel Agentic AI
SoundHound closed its acquisition of LivePerson on September 4 in a deal valued at roughly $304 million once LivePerson’s secured debt retirement is included. The purchase includes $42.8 million in cash and stock for LivePerson’s equity holders and $261.2 million in cash and stock to retire LivePerson’s First Lien and Second Lien Convertible Secured Notes. SoundHound says the combined platform brings LivePerson’s 1 billion customer messages per month and 25 Fortune 100 clients into its orbit. The companies are combining SoundHound’s OASYS voice and agentic AI platform with LivePerson’s Conversational Cloud text and messaging infrastructure, positioning it as a natively omnichannel enterprise AI solution. SoundHound launched OASYS on May 5, 2026 and describes it as managing an agent fleet lifecycle autonomously, with Human Assisted Resolution routing difficult cases to experts.
