Super Cruise and Its $7.5B Software Opportunity - General Motors (NYSE:GM)
General Motors is expanding Super Cruise across its Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra lineup, framing the hands-free system as a driver of software and services revenue. GM’s CEO Mary Barra said the company expects Super Cruise penetration across its full-size truck portfolio to grow four to five times in 2027. Super Cruise is set to become standard on high-end Silverado and Sierra light-duty trims, while remaining available on most other trims. GM reported Super Cruise recognized revenue rose about 60% year over year in the third quarter, and it expects to exceed 850,000 subscribers by year-end. Separately, GM projects deferred revenue from software and services to approach $7.5 billion by year-end, supported by growth in OnStar subscriptions and Super Cruise-equipped vehicles.
