Tell me what you think': Challenges of managing AI users
Financial firms are working out how to manage large numbers of autonomous AI agents while deciding how much of the workforce they should augment and how to monitor them, executives said. Kristin Lesher, chief wholesale banking officer at Truist, argued that teams shouldn’t simply read out copilot-style recommendations; leaders need “your perspective and your judgment.” At Franklin Templeton, more than 6,000 AI agents are deployed, reporting to manager AI agents that can evaluate performance and trigger reprogramming or shutdown, which then report to HR agents and ultimately humans. Sandy Kaul of Franklin Templeton and Lisa Farkovits of Barclays said AI agents require ongoing oversight, and governance frameworks are being designed for safe production use.
