Three UK airports hit by cyber-attack with data of 8.7m customers accessed - AOL

Three UK airports—Manchester, London Stansted and East Midlands—were hit by a cyber-attack that exposed data of about 8.7 million customers, according to Manchester Airports Group (MAG). The accessed information includes details tied to car park, lounge and fast-track bookings, as well as in-airport Wi‑Fi sign-ups. MAG said the system did not contain bank or payment information and, at no point, passenger safety or aviation security was compromised. Airport operations were unaffected, and customer parking services continued normally. London Stansted told customers to be cautious of unexpected emails, calls or texts asking for payment or banking details. MAG said it contained the risk and is working with authorities during the peak summer travel period.
