Trump launches 'Super Intelligence Force' after calls for AI slowdown
President Donald Trump announced Sunday he will name four officials to lead a new “Super Intelligence Force” coordinating the federal government’s response to artificial intelligence. The group will be led by Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton, Federal Trade Commission chair Andrew Ferguson, Office of Personnel Management director Scott Kupor, and Emil Michael, undersecretary of war for research and engineering. Trump said the task force will engage stakeholders as debates intensify over AI risks for consumers, public-interest groups, tech firms, and infrastructure providers. The move follows Trump’s earlier “AI Force” plan and a rebranding push via an executive order. The officials reflect competing roles, including concerns about advanced cybersecurity threats from models such as Anthropic’s Mythos.
