Trump's attempt to rename AI is looking awfully artificial
Donald Trump has pushed to rebrand artificial intelligence as “super intelligence,” replacing the term “AI” across some official language and framing dissenters as “THE ENEMY.” The shift follows his recent remarks at the United Nations and an executive order issued last week that discourages using “AI” where possible. According to the article, US Center for AI Standards and Innovation (CAISI) was renamed CAISSI, and Justice Department releases have been modified to include phrases such as “Super Intelligence-Assisted Music Streaming Fraud.” On Thursday, Trump again attacked those using “Artificial Intelligence” instead. The article also notes adoption by figures including Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Jensen Huang, while OpenAI’s Sam Altman said OpenAI will not change its name.
