UEFA has announced it is prepared to boycott future men’s and women’s World Cups, escalating a dispute with FIFA over plans to raise private investment in the tournaments. FIFA said FFE is valued at $20 billion and expects member associations to receive $40 million in the next four-year cycle if they back the plan, with only 53 days for approval. UEFA says selling football’s “soul and governance” crosses a line and has told teams they won’t compete until the proposals are shelved.
