Jacob Saifiti’s hometown World Cup appearance in Newcastle on Sunday arrives at the intersection of footy, contract uncertainty, and family life. The Origin prop is set to be available after a Knights suspension kept him out of the NRL finals, and his current deal runs until the end of 2027, with rival clubs permitted to begin negotiations from next month. Saifiti told the Newcastle Herald he wants to be “a Knight for life.” Off the field, he and wife Immogen are expecting their first child.
