Verstappen will stay with Red Bull, McLaren are happy with their drivers'
Max Verstappen will stay with Red Bull Racing, according to Sky Sports’ Ted Kravitz, as options for a switch ahead of the 2027 season narrow. Speaking on Sky Sports News, Kravitz said the only realistic destination is McLaren, but argued that team is currently content with its driver lineup of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. He referenced Norris’s pace at Spa-Francorchamps, saying the driver would have challenged for victory if he had not started 13th due to an engine penalty on the grid. Kravitz also suggested Mercedes is not an option, pointing to Mercedes’s belief that Kimi Antonelli is fast and that George Russell could support him as a teammate for the time being. Ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix weekend, Verstappen shut down questions about his future and said he will speak when he has something to share. Last season he confirmed he stays with Red Bull for 2026.
