Flock Safety CEO Garrett Langley is set to discuss the future of surveillance and the boundary between privacy and public safety at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026. The session comes amid growing scrutiny of the company as AI becomes more interwoven with surveillance technologies, including both investment and public backlash. Disrupt 2026 takes place October 13–15 at San Francisco’s Moscone Center, and the program will include Langley’s talk alongside other startup-focused sessions. The company, founded in 2017 by Langley and co-founders Matt Feury and Paige Todd, went through Y Combinator and later sold surveillance technology to businesses and law enforcement. Langley previously worked on Clutch and Experience, the latter sold to Cox Enterprises for $200 million in 2014. Flock has raised $950 million total, including a $275 million round last year that valued it at $7.5 billion, up from $4.8 billion the prior year, and it has faced setbacks such as Amazon Ring ending a partnership and the LAPD letting a deal lapse this month.
