What happened on 'DWTS: The Next Pro'? Two dancers sent home
“Dancing with the Stars: The Next Pro” began its first night by cutting the field from 12 dancers to 10, sending Briar Nolet and Jake Monreal home during Episode 1 on Monday. The ABC competition premiered with routines in jive for the men and samba for the women, and judges Derek Hough, Mark Ballas and Shirley Ballas evaluated each dancer individually while competitors performed both solo and paired sections. Before the eliminations, Nolet, Natalie Jolley, Tristen Sanders and Monreal were placed at risk. Shirley Ballas criticized Nolet’s fundamentals as very weak, while Mark Ballas said Monreal’s leg action was underwhelming and needed more action and fun. The show, hosted by Robert Irwin, is set to air Mondays at 8 p.m. ET with next-day streaming on Hulu and Disney+.
