WHMI 93.5 FM Radio Station -- Livingston County Michigan

A year after “Today” co-host Savannah Guthrie aired a segment highlighting her Tucson roots and introducing viewers to her mother and favorite places, experts say the broadcast is drawing renewed scrutiny in the still-unsolved kidnapping of Nancy Guthrie. According to experts cited in the report, the same clip could have provided details that influenced the kidnapping or enabled someone to claim inside knowledge afterward. Morgan Wright, CEO of the National Center for Open and Unsolved Cases, pointed to the possibility of inferring routines, such as what watch Nancy might be wearing. A retired detective, Lisa Miller, said the segment is “worth considering” as a possible spark, while emphasizing the motive remains unclear and stating it doesn’t place responsibility on Savannah.
