Cybercriminals are exploiting long-running anticipation for Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto VI with phishing schemes that impersonate legitimate “early access” beta invitations. Experts cited by NordVPN say clone sites and fraudulent email networks can steal banking details, harvest personal data, and distribute malware. The article warns that fake inbox invitations prompt users to submit sensitive information or click links that resemble official channels, potentially targeting PC gaming accounts or installing harmful software. It notes that GTA VI is currently scheduled for a 19 November release after two prior delays. NordVPN vice president Gerald Kasulis said AI helps scammers mimic polished official-looking pages.
