YouTube Is Expanding Its AI Search to Be More Like Google's - CNET
YouTube is rolling out an expanded AI search experience, designed to help users build custom video feeds in a more conversational way. At Made on YouTube on Wednesday, the company said people will soon be able to prompt YouTube like a chatbot to generate multiple personalized recommendation feeds—such as one for photography or college football—each with dedicated tabs on the homepage. The rollout is expected across desktop, TV and mobile in the US next month. Separately, its experimental “Ask YouTube” tool is improving: it can compile information about a product (using videos plus outside sources), produce comparison tables, and let users continue questioning from a video’s watch page. YouTube says the goal is faster matching to the right videos, and that features like chapters and AI summaries have shown no negative impact on watch time.
