Absolutely ridiculous': Dallas hasn't been paid costs for hosting GOP event

Dallas spent $804,000 to host the Republican midterm event in September, far below a $2.5 million estimate, but the city still hasn’t received payment for public safety costs tied to President Donald Trump’s appearance. According to a memo from Kevin Oden, director of emergency management and crisis response, Dallas Police spent $661,000 and Dallas Fire-Rescue $119,600, with smaller costs also logged. A private host committee raised $45 million, but no reimbursement agreement has been reached, and discussions are ongoing.
