Alzheimer's MRI Software Sorts Dementia Patients Into 2-Year and 7-Year Groups, Wins Drug Vote
Oxford Brain Diagnostics (OBD) won the 2026 CNS Summit’s Innovation Showcase near Boston, beating nine other finalists with its Cortical Disarray Measurement (CDM®) platform. The FDA-cleared, cloud-native software analyzes standard diffusion MRI scans to extract microstructural information that conventional imaging can’t capture. OBD’s CDM targets gray matter in the cerebral cortex, quantifying microscopic disorganization that can appear years before visible atrophy and clinical symptoms. It works on existing 1.5T and 3T hospital scanners with no hardware upgrades and generates three measurements: AngleR, PerpPD+, and ParlPD. The award included an audience vote from clinical development professionals, and the summit convenes over 1,000 decision-makers in Everett, Massachusetts.
