Back-to-school tax holiday is still running: List of qualifying items
xCruzo Brief
Florida’s back-to-school sales tax holiday is already underway and will run into the next school wave. The Florida Department of Revenue says the tax-free period began Monday, July 20, and continues through Thursday, Aug. 20, spanning about a month—longer than the single-weekend format used before 2025. In 2025, Gov. Ron DeSantis extended the holiday to Aug. 1–Aug. 31. This year’s window ends in mid-August, just over a week after K-12 students start. The rules limit eligible purchases with price caps, including $1,500-or-less personal computers and $50-or-less school supplies.
