BBC Radio 4 - Sunday Worship, 25th Anniversary of 9/11

BBC Radio 4’s Sunday Worship marked the 25th anniversary of the 11 September 2001 attacks with a service staged at two churches on either side of Ground Zero. The program, led by the Bishop of New York, Matthew Heyd, brought together St Paul’s Chapel and St Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church near where the Twin Towers stood. The Trinity Choir sang “Abide with me,” followed by readings from Isaiah 2:1-4 and reflections by Reverend Kristin Miles and Fr Patrick Williams. Speakers recalled St Paul’s Chapel’s role as an open refuge after the World Trade Center collapse, highlighting clergy and volunteers who supported workers during the recovery.
