Bending Spoons CEO talks future acquisitions
Bending Spoons’ CEO talks future acquisitions as the company positions itself for a broader, more active M&A pipeline following its IPO filing. Luca Ferrari said the firm has identified more than 1,000 acquisition targets, spanning both public and private companies, and is primarily looking for “predictability” and confidence it can improve businesses after deep platform integration. He said transformations are time-consuming, and Bending Spoons typically acquires four or five companies per year as revenue grows. Ferrari noted the earliest deal was a $10,000 purchase of an iPhone app that customized keyboards, which was shut down six to seven years ago. He added that over the next five or six years, about 90% of those targets could become buyable with the right offer. Separately, the article cites AOL and Eventbrite and Vimeo returning as public-company targets, and references pricing of $29 per share versus a $26–$28 range, implying an $18.4 billion valuation.
