Bombardier looks to grow footprint in United States, investing US$270M in first phase
Bombardier says it will invest US$270 million in the first phase of expanding its U.S. aircraft service network, including hiring 800 workers. The Montreal-based company plans jobs across its headquarters in Kansas and in Texas, Indiana and Connecticut. CEO Eric Martel linked the move to confidence following discussions with the U.S. administration, calling the American service network a pillar of the company’s growth strategy. Bombardier says 500 of the positions are currently open and another 300 will be created through expansion. Those plans include a training centre opened in Wichita, a new service centre in Indiana scheduled to open in November, plus additional projects in Texas and Connecticut. The company estimates its U.S. operations supported about 27,200 jobs in 2025 and could exceed 33,000 after expansion.
