Brazil bow out of the Women's Under-20 World Cup

Brazil’s Women’s Under-20 World Cup run ended this Saturday (19) as Spain beat them 1-0 in the quarterfinals in Poland. After a possession-focused start, Brazil created early opportunities, including a test on the 4th minute from a left-side pass by Gisele and a shot from Kaylane. Spain pressed from the left and broke through in the 26th minute when Rosalia’s cross found Pau Comendador; a deflection off Thaynara sent the ball into Brazil’s net. Coach Camilla Orlando made substitutions before and after halftime, but the attack couldn’t level the score. Brazil’s best chance came at 80 minutes, when Sofia’s header cleared the bar. Spain, unbeaten at 100%, face Italy in the semifinals.
