Buzz debuts three-row electric Microbus for the US with more power and space

Volkswagen has unveiled for North America the three-row, long-wheelbase version of the electric ID Buzz, shown today in California. The US-spec model is 192.4 inches long and keeps similar exterior styling to the two-row European version, but adds space through a longer 127.5-inch wheelbase. That wheelbase is 9.9 inches longer than the short-wheelbase (SWB) Buzz revealed last year, and the LWB is shorter than the Atlas SUV while gaining about five inches of overall height. VW says the turning radius matches the compact Golf hatchback, and the US Buzz features a new illuminated front emblem, a panoramic electrochromic sunroof, and updated tech. Power-sliding rear doors open via foot motion, and the LWB uses a 91kWh battery with a rear motor rated at 282 hp and 406 lb-ft.
