Casa Sueño finds Mike Watt still in the game

Mike Watt is bringing a new project, Casa Sueño, to Vancouver for two nights at LanaLou’s this coming week. The punk icon will preview a new 7-inch single titled “House of Dreams,” with plans to record his first full-length for Casa Sueño in Portland, Oregon later during the tour. Watt teamed with Mike Baggetta—who plays guitar and also leads both Casa Sueño and Baggetta’s other collaborative unit, mssv—starting with the album Wall of Flowers, featuring Jim Keltner on drums. Keltner was later replaced by Stephen Hodges in mssv, while Casa Sueño adds John Herndon of Tortoise on drums. The name references LaMonte Young and Marian Zazeela’s Dream House installation.
