Catch fall colors on display at 2 free Kalamazoo County events
xCruzo Brief
Kalamazoo County is offering two free October events at its newest park, the Arthur E. & Mildred H. Woollam Nature Preserve, aimed at hiking and fall activities. Fall Free Day runs all day Oct. 17, inviting visitors to explore six miles of trails and visit the nature center. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the preserve will provide fall crafts, kids’ activities and refreshments. On Oct. 24, the Fall Color Hike will feature hiking trails, a fall-themed scavenger hunt, and views of the preserve’s autumn colors as they peak. The 212-acre preserve opened this year on the former Rota-Kiwan Boy Scout Camp site off Texas Drive near Bass Lake in Texas Township.
