Church events across West Virginia highlight community outreach and faith-based programming in the coming weeks. The Oak Hill Gospel Tabernacle will host July 7-10, with gatherings from 6 to 8 p.m. at 301 Byrnside Street for ages 5-12, featuring Soccer with Coach Kit and organized youth activities. Coal City Community Outreach plans a Fun Day and Giveaway on Saturday, June 20, at the Coal City Post Office sign and at the end of the road near the Old Stoco High School ballfield, offering free food and drinks, activities, giveaways, and a gospel sing. Beckley’s United Methodist Temple will present a free concert on Sunday, June 28, at 4 p.m. to honor the United States’ 250th anniversary, with the Beckley Community Chorus and New River Jazz Band performing. Additional events include Pastor's Gospel Explosion on Sunday, July 12 at Perservati Center in Princeton, with doors opening at 3 p.m. and the concert beginning at 4 p.m., featuring The Swanee Quintet, Sonny Brown Experience, Gospel Singaleers of Beckley, and Karl and Gloria Miller. Tickets are $30 in advance and $40 at the door, with proceeds supporting church ministries; organizers urge prospective attendees to obtain tickets early.
