Colorado Springs film festival to screen 80 films in 10 genres

The Colorado Short Circuit Film Festival is returning for its 10th annual run with a slate of 80 short films across 10 genres. Festival director Ralph Giordano said he reviewed 150 submissions ahead of the weekend event, which takes place Friday through Sunday at Ivywild School, 1604 S. Cascade Ave. Single tickets and passes cost $15-$150 at ifsoc.org. The films, limited to Colorado filmmakers, range from 90 seconds to 20 to 25 minutes and cover categories including animation, comedy, horror and sci-fi. Submissions span ages 15 to 82, from Cheyenne Mountain High School student River Mayer to wildlife lover Robert Edwin Jones. Awards end Sunday at 6 p.m.
