Competing for Ward 3 seat on Ann Arbor City Council
Two candidates are competing for the Ward 3 seat on the Ann Arbor City Council in the Nov. 3 election, after Ayesha Ghazi Edwin vacates the role. Democrat Ryan Bartholomew faces independent Kenny Leicht. Bartholomew, a resident of the area for about 13 years and living at his current address for two, says he has BA and MA degrees in Public Policy from U of M’s Ford School and spent three years as policy director for state representative Carrie Rheingans. Leicht, who cites himself as a political outsider, openly acknowledges a criminal record: Hillsdale County felony assault and firearm charges in 2013, later resolved through a plea deal to misdemeanor charges. The article notes Vote411.org voter guide responses were submitted by candidates and not edited, aside from required cuts.
