Corn snake left 'like a piece of rubbish' near primary school trash

A corn snake found near a primary school in Cwmbrân, Wales, has triggered an information appeal from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) Cymru. The orange-and-red snake, named Pumpkin, was discovered at 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 16 on Michael Thacker Court, inside a clear box placed in a carrier bag beside a bin near the school. RSPCA said the box contained wood shavings and a log. Animal rescue officer Kirsty Morgan said Pumpkin was taken for evaluation and found to be well but cold; she has been temporarily boarded with an exotics vet while the RSPCA seeks details about how she was abandoned.
