Darline Graham, Annie Andrews Spar In South Carolina Senate Debate

South Carolina Senate debate on Sunday turned into a fight over experience as Republican Sen. Darline Graham and Democratic nominee Annie Andrews sparred for an hour, three weeks before the general election. Graham, appointed to finish her late brother Lindsey Graham’s term after his July death, argued she has the right qualifications, while Andrews questioned her political standing and repeatedly pressed the candidates’ close ties to Donald Trump. The debate also covered Iran and artificial intelligence, with Andrews referencing Graham’s earlier difficulty answering a question about U.S. interests in Taiwan and the South China Sea. Outside groups have spent millions backing Graham as Democrats seek to regain Congress.
